Sticking turbo actuator

Disco been parked up for a fortnight while I was away at work an wife away caring for motheri in law post op and turbo now not actuating properly my garage can't fit us in for a week any locals to Blackpool area know the tricks to free it off the garage said to keep using it as it might free up with use it's part opening as you can hear the waste gate when you lift off the throttle

Hi , just had the same problem, my disco is not used to often which is part of the reason why it sticks, once it's used and free there is no issue and works freely. Mine has been parked up for 2 weeks come to start it and guess what? Actuator stuck !! Big Cry
Thanks to a forum member I had read if you remove the heat shield in the passenger front arch you can just see the offending part. Gave it a good soaking with anti seize fluid and moved it bak and forth with a long screw driver and a modified wire coat hanger and it's now moving freely again Thumbs Up
Let's see how long it lasts Now

Cheers yeah I am gonna try this week to free it off seen another one going in from above and removing the battery tray as I don't have any axle stands if I can't get to it she's off for a service and the garage are gonna sort it

Drive the car as little as possible until the rod is freed off

You run the risk of burning out the electrical motor, which is new turbo to repair Big Cry My D3 Build Thread

are the actuators electric on a d3. I had mine changed on the d4 and it was a vacumn solinoid. D4

Electronic motor operates actuator on D3, if it goes as DM says new turbo required as they 'apparently' can't be calibrated other than at factory in Germany Confused No idea about the D4 Sad

That's a relief found the actuator squirted the smeg out of it with it with wd40 tried turning it over can hear motor clicking but still got esf when star engine will try and wiggle it a bit more
