Hi all, on my MY12 D4 the engine stop button seems to have a mind of its own. In park, foot on brake doesn't stop. Foot off brake, doesn't stop press again stops. Next time, park foot on brake, stops, foot off brake stops. Needs various combinations to stop the engine, no problem starting. Anyone else got a problem stopping the engine?

Hey Lukey, it must be something to do with the air in Northampton because sometimes mine doesn't stop when I press the button either. If I move the selector from 'P' into 'D' then back again it then stops  But then my new MY14 car has loads of other issues and this one seems minor by comparison. On a mission to find the perfect Pork Pie. Just Found it (I think)..(Yes I have)

Hi Highbayrack, I think it must be, I tried stabbing it, still doesn't work, perhaps we should stand on one leg whistling God Save The Queen and then press it.

I think mik meant hold it rather than stab it.
Try for 2 seconds or so. TD4 Freelader ES

Hi everyone and Highbayrack, car been in as problem now getting worse, new batteries in fob, no difference, problem is bad contacts in switch, booked in for a day, probably two, under warranty, as whole dash assembly needs taking out. Hope one prob. doesn't lead to another, here's hoping, let you know in 3 weeks time, cheers Lukey.

Takes about 10 minutes to get the dash panel off that the button is mounted in. TD4 Freelader ES

Hi Lukey, I hope you have better luck than I have, mine has been in Guy Salmon for 2 days this week with a long standing noisy turbo issue. Eventually Landrover technical team decreed that the dealer did a software mod to change the timing of the airflow entering or leaving the turbo.....whatever.....anyway its made no difference whatsoever 
But on the upside, the car was lovely and clean when I picked it up yesterday ready for our looooong drive up-to the Cairngorms this morning with 5 bored kids trying to kill each other   On a mission to find the perfect Pork Pie. Just Found it (I think)..(Yes I have)
