I am new here and got lr3 coil sprung on my mind which I want to modify for long overland trips but keep it comfy enough for normal day to day driving as well strip it as much as possible and get rid of all crap not serving any purpose ... any suggestions

Welcome
Just ignore SV
Put heavy duty raised coils on it and leave the rest alone Pete

Hi Gr
Welcome on board first off
I dont think you will find there is too much trimming of the fat to be done with your Disco but rather there is plenty to add on
How far are you looking to go in your disco?
Bits you might need are endless - Roof rack, A-frame, winch, LongRange Fuel Tank, Spare wheel carriers, etc etc etc
You think the ladies out there love their accessories...wait til you spend some time in here
enjoy

I have gone through all the posts on coil upgrades and I think I would be happy with 2 more inches, less articulation but higher cruising speed off road , if it comes to making lr3 lighter well I agree and do not agree with you guys
basic should weight around 2.5 tonnes right:
adding winch, underside protection roof rack extra spare, long range tank and more would only make it heavier so I am trying to find people who don some long range preparations on lr3 and have experience with running it in harsh conditions (that would make it weight some 3 T??? )
where I would go in it??
I am thinking of trip to Mongolia, some parts of Russia and African trips later on maybe

I fitted King Springs to our coiler and she's much improved off road, and in my opinion on road too. I got the springs direct from King Springs in Oz. I seem to remember something about a European distributer starting in 2008 in a previous thread. If you intend to import yourself remember to consider the import tax/duty.
As for off road preping a vehicle - send 10forcash a PM. LRs are a fond memory, apart from the maintenance.

It's probably just as well. With a username like that you would have been sprayed with gob a lot.
Seriously though. If you're going to be taking part in the social/events side of things (which I highly recommend) you might want to change you name to something pronouncable, as you will be known by it forever more. Unless you're Polish of course? If so, I apologise for the slur.

you got it right mate, I am polish and no offense taken, I like do not mind people taking out of me as it is always a chance to "bite" back
besides I would be one doing rotfl most of the time at blokes like you struggling with my nick or name lol
so no worries my friend I think I would handle it well
