Sunroof leak into passenger footwell.
I know we heard about this many times but i have decided to have another go at this issue [been happening for about a year now]. im convinced i need to get to the pipe where it exits the wheel arch [see images] however my question is do you have to remove the wheel arch?

I found that the windscreen pillar panels were at fault leaking water into my footwell, Land Rover do a replacement fixing kit that holds the panel in place better.
After a few years the plastic studs with rubber seal compress and donor seal properly.
Check this out as well to be sure.

When I did mine - 2005 model, I removed the wheel arch as I could not get my hand into the cavity as it was too tight.
It's about 45mins taking your time to take off the trims and get to remove the arch. This makes replacing the offending drain hose a piece of cake. You can also clean out all the debris that hides behind the inner arch whilst you are at it.

I've done a few of these now and not fully removed anything yet.
If you undo the back edge of the wheel arch liner and the back edge of the wheel arch you can make a gap big enough to get your arm up behind the outer wing and reach up to get to the point where you can "podge" a hole into the end of the plastic drain outlet.
You then get a very wet arm as the water in the pipe runs straight down your sleeve!!!
Works a treat after that. Mods:

Do you mean the plastic trim over the wheel or the entire front wing, and what was involved? I've started to strip the interior (a-pillar cover, sunvisor and handle) ready to replace the entire hose but removing the glove boxes and fuse box looks to be a real b***er. I was hoping to be able to use the old hose to pull the new one through but that's looking like less and less of an option.

I removed the complete wing inc the plastic wheel arch. Pics above are of my car. It may be overkill, but it means you are not fiddling around in the dark.
I used my old hose to pull the new one through. Just tape end to end and take your time. Making a bigger hole in the old elbow is just a short term fix as the elbows rot and fall back into car. You can guess the result of that happening

Have been wondering about this.
I'm sure it's been discussed before but I've looked at a few of the threads and didn't see a definitive answer. It seems to me that the better solution would be to run the new tube straight through the body and seal it with gasket/silicone - eliminating the elbows completely and making sure there's no way the tube can fall off the elbow, or the elbow fall out of the body, and leak into the footwell.
