TDV6 plastic water outlet assembly o-ring to engine oil cool

In regards to the plastic water outlet setup on the TDV6 there is no seperate listing for the o-ring between it and the engine oil cooler. The o-ring is not included with a new water outlet even though the other two o-rings are. The only way to source from Land Rover was with the purchase of a new engine oil cooler setup.

Previously Steve advised an alternative source:

Hi, You don't need to change that when doing a timing belt change, although they do leak sometimes.
That is the correct part number, although Landrover don't supply the o ring that fits it to the fuel cooler, (only a complete cooler!). You can get the o ring from Citroen/Peugeot, part number 198171

regards
Steve

I've since been informed that a generic viton o-ring of size/part number BS211 is a suitable replacement. This is likely easier and cheaper to source. I intend to do this job during the Christmas break and will confirm once done if this was a successful replacement.

I believe that both 2.7 TDV6 and 3.0 S/TDV6 all use the same water outlet assembly so this will apply to all.

Yep, that one. Saves having to buy an entire set of various sized o-rings. Also you can specify the material for the o-ring (e.g. viton) rather than just using what ever came in the generic kit.

Potentially another option:

AFAIK LR part number LR018829 is for the 3rd O ring on 2010 onwards

Interesting, LR018829 is the Gasket Thermostat Housing for 3.0 Diesel 24V DOHC TC engine. It only lists for the 3.0L engine though, not the 2.7L. From the below diagram, it looks to be included as part of the 1357091 Connection - Water Outlet.

Which is interesting as the 1357091 Engine Water Connector lists for both 3.0 and 2.7 TDV6 motors and is already established that it doesn't include that third seal. Alternative part numbers for the Engine Water Connector (Connection - Water Outlet) are 1331447 or LR073372.

I wonder therefore if there is a stuff up in the Microcat parts listings as that o-ring is not shown in the blow up of the water connector (see below)? For GBP 1.94 I've added one to my next UK parts order just to see.

You can buy the correct o ring from Peugeot. Unlike LR they sell the part. I am sure the part number is on here somewhere from when I did this job on the D3.

Yes, it is quoted in the first post of this thread.

But my purpose was to provide other options too. Peugeot/Citroen are not very big here in Australia, there’s not a dealer with spare parts everywhere and when there is there’s a price premium.
