Is 2014 model now compatible with trailers with led lights without requiring an adaptor for electronics to work correctly? It would make sense considering the tail lights are led now.
If it is, would it also be compatible with non-led trailer lights?

This might be a question for Pete@ Land Rover customer service. If you're happy I'll cut and paste this to his section on here. I'd be interested in this answer too as my BOAB AT Trailer tent has LEDs courtesy of DiscoDunc and I'd be interested to know the information on this.

Steve, please do. Discoteca, my 2012 D4.has globes, hence my question. When I connect my trailer that has led's, no trailer icon on display.

No, the op is saying that his 2012 D4 didn't have LED tail lights, at least I think that is what he is saying

My 2010 D4 HSE is fine with LED Trailer lights, makes the little tell-tale in the Dash work too.
My son's ML does all sorts of silly things plugged into a LED Trailer/board - he's trying hard to suss it out Stew,
2010 D4 gone but I really loved it
Went back to Merc - C350 AMG

True! Maybe our SA spec is different to UK? I know 2014 is definitely led.
