Okay thanks, was looking for someone that might have fitted a D4 style one and how well it fitted.2015 D4 HSE LUX Kaikoura Stone(sold)

2014 Evoque Dynamic Kaikoura Stone (sold)
2013 Porsche Boxster S (Fun car)
2008 D3 HSE Java Black(sold)
This aftermarket camera on the rear of my 2005 LR3 is mounted in almost the same location as the factory cameras. The factory units are mounted somewhat more forward closer to the metal of the tail gate and I could have done the exact same.
Note that the camera is aimed a bit towards the centreline of the vehicle per the factory install.

Below is the link that I purchased the camera of eBay. Delivery via the Royal Mail was about a month which can be fairly typical for "free" shipping but it did arrive and all was OK.
It claims to be a 170 degree NTSC default Sony CCD sensor camera and it just may be as the picture on my factory display is pretty good.
I drilled about a 1/4" hole in the underside of the LR license plate light / upper latch handle and then threaded the cables back up to the top of the upper hatch per the usual routing and out via the rubber accordion wire protector on the left side.

I was looking in your gallery re the vent lighting. Do you have a link to a thread on it? I wondered if those were 3 mm or 5 mm LEDs that you used? It does look good and sort of provides a bit of balance to all the lighting in the centre stack and then nothing outboard.
The Grinder Lady picture in your gallery looks a lot better than my jpg of Marilyn Monroe. I am impressed if that is the help you have on your projects.2005 LR3 HSE 4.4L AJ-V8 petrol; Traxide Dual Battery; PIAA 2500K Yellow Ion H11 Fog Light bulbs; CounterAct LT-2 Capacitive Corrosion control; LLumar AIR80 Blue clear Infra Red blocking side window film; Liftgate manual release; Schrader Valve "air in" mod to OEM air suspension reservoir tank; Akebono ceramic pads; OEM solid vented discs; LR4 design hitch receiver; Wiggs D4 MOST bluetooth module; Clock on the Dash; 3 Flash signal light mod; Backup Camera; 2015/16 Nav Data update.

bbyer, Thanks for that, looks like a viable alternative for me.
Ref the vent lighting i did not do a right up, there is a write up i think but i only found that out afterwards, to be honest its very simple to do. In my gallery are all the pics but i have redone it since as i found the bulbs to be to bright, another member told me what he used.
You don't need to put the clear plastic bits in but i did to make sure i got an even spread of light.
I think this is the supplier i used for the bulbs.
When you get to the vent you can see a white hole, the bulb just pushes up in there and some hot glue to hold it in place and a cable tie with a bit of slack.
If you need and more info drop me a pm and i can advise you if needed. 2015 D4 HSE LUX Kaikoura Stone(sold)

bbyer does the camera you fitted come on automatically when reverse is selected? Is this what the GVIF box is required for?
