CD Fails to continue to play after engine restart or powered

Hi Everyone.

Nagging issue with my HD Logic 7 6CD player. If a cd is playing (OEM CD or burn MP3) and I switch the engine off or turn the CD player off, when next on it fails to play. you can't forward/reverse or skip the tracks.

Only ejecting or switching CD's resolves the issue.

Any ideas??

Thanks in advance.
Colin.

I always start with a hard reset and take it from there. cures most things.....

Disconnect your battery leads and short them together for a minute or two, then re connect them back on the battery.

This causes a reboot of all ECU's that can sort some software problems out Thumbs Up

There is a small chance that getting your head unit reflashed might sort this Colin, but otherwise I believe that you need to start looking for a replacement Head Unit.

If it helps I can tell you that you can use a Range Rover Sport one, but you would need to swap the facia plastics over.

when you say short the battery terminals do you mean literally touch positive and negative ends together for a minute?

yeah thats what I was meaning so you just hold the positive and negative leads together ? I do know not to do so on the battery terminals themselves Thumbs Up

Laughing Phew! you had me worried, I would have heard the bang here from Livingston! Laughing Yes just use a long screwdriver or something to connect the leads keeping it all well away from the battery! Thumbs Up

You either need a Nanocom, an MSV-2, someone with a Nanocom or an MV MSV-2 (quite a few on here) or get your dealer to do it.

It is a long shot that this would solve your problem though.

Just a thought, is the problem the same using the wheel controls and those on the Head Unit itself?
