TMC install, now sorted

Installed the blue TMC-receiver in the back window, taking of power from the radio receiver, ran the antenna cable from TMC to near bluetooth module, installed the TMC-module taking power from the red cable from the Bluetooth module, installed the MOST splitter. When powering on, fuse 52 (5 amps) blows, making the sound go as well as the satnav screen (only shows LandRover). Taking the power of the TMC-receiver and it still blows the fuse. Read somewhere that pwoer should be taken from a blue wire near the bluetooth module. Not willing to cut and split wires at random (yet), any advise from those in the know-how department? 2009 SE with high line audio, Satnav and Bluetooth factory installed.

When I fitted mine I took power from the other amp in the back window for my TMC amp, but my was red in color not blue, I then powered my TMC module from an ignition feed from the front of the car.

Are you sure you have the right TMC amp in the rear window.?.

Flack Thumbs Up

Thanks Flack, spb (Steve) sold me the TMC module and a blue TMC receiver, the latter as new, the TMC older version. Since it's an older TMC-module I understood that the receiver needs a feed as it is not powered thru the coax. Receiver is powered by the same blue wire as the radio receiver in the window, took the power to the TMC module from BT (red cable). Shows 12v. If these 2 don't go together I need to talk to spb. I can't figure this out, fuses keep blowing, also with the MOST and coax detached. Ideas are welcome.

Have you bolted the TMC module to the bodywork? as that is where it gets its earth from.

I took the +12V feed for the TMC module from the Bluetooth module, and the power for the Amp from the amp on the other side.

The TMC amp I sold you is the latest LR part as the red one has now been discontinued, in fact it was purchased new from my local LR dealer.

The MOST is an optical loop, if you leave it disconnected the SATNAV won't boot up, the same as if any module is not working.

I'm happy to help you get this sorted Smile

Steve, yep that's what I did. Power to the blue receiver I assume has the same + as the radio receiver. Once I have some new fuses I will try to just power up the TMC Module, taking a feed from another source

As obvious as it sounds, you seem to have introduced a short on that circuit.

All set. Looked everything over carefully, refitted connectors and used the other antenna connection on the TMC. No more blown fuses. After that TMC -set in IIDTool and tadaaa
