fbh aborting after some seconds -> problem solved

hey guys,

winter is coming closer and i worked on the problem, that my fbh (activated with
the webasto clock) did abort firing after some seconds.

to make a long story short:
it is in the venturi cone in the burning chamber.
to fix, you need to pull out the fbh and strip down until you have the burning chamber
in your hand.

now you have to remove the glow plug and the injector, which is held by two "nuts" (size M3)
removing the nuts is a bit fiddely.
after that you can extract the venturi cone (ceramic component with a cone, injector sitting in).
it should look like this:

(holy cow i don't know how to insert the jpg directly)

source: http://forum.langzeittest.de/read.php?229,474313

remove the gunk from the cone, reassemble, start engine, then start fbh (the pump of the
webasto is not self-priming). done.

tip: there is no need to drain the water from engine, only some few ml will drain
out of the hoses when disconnecting the fbh from the car.

any comment would be welcome.
cheers

And it's a pita to do the registering process... Kind of a lottery. Tried it several times, was always rejected as my "data wasn't correct"...? Censored

@rovervirus
Could you post the pics here as well, please? Smile

obviously i am too stupid to enter a pic directly.

the pic from of the venturi cone is in the link above, you do not need
to be logged in to this site.

unfortunately i forgot to make my own pics.
if you can explain how to embed the pic, i´ll do.

thanks.

yes, exactly.

it is the venturi cone, view from bottom up.

glühkerze = glowplug
einspritzdüse = injector
russablagerungen = gunk
