Can anyone clear up what car i own?
My 2011my D4 XS (feb 11) is badged as SDV6 XS on the rear door but the logbook states tdv6. A couple of people have enquired about the car (which is for sale) saying its the lower powered 210bhp (i.e not worth as much) version after doing an online HPI type check (obviously this brings up the TDV6 as stated on the logbook)
After my TDV8 Range rover, i would say my D4 is on par with that in terms of performance so i cannot believe its the lower BHP version
Is there anyway to prove once and for all what power it has?
There seems to be a lot of confusion with 2011 SDV6 badged cars still stating TDV6 on the V5, Is this true?

I've heard that is true, log books stating tdv6 instead of sdv6
Not sure of the solution though

The things is Paul our Trade system clearly states SDV6 or TDV6 depending on the chassis number as both SDV6 & TDV6 were definitely available in 2011/60.
Your data states TDV6 245BHP (Not SDV6 255BHP) so I have to assume it is.

As far as i know mine is the 245bhp SDV6, i know the 255bhp SDV6 didn't come in until the 8 speed box version (i.e 2012). The 2011my onwards TDV6 was only 210bhp whereas the 09/10 tdv6 was also 245bhp.
As far as i can make out the only difference between 09/10 and 11my was that the 11my had a DPF and was badged SDV6
Thats how i interpret it, but its not clear Previous Discos

The CCF for your vehicle will also contain the engine output, in your case it should read 180kW.

I realise what you are saying Gary, i know mine is definitely NOT the 255bhp version as that didn't come out until the 8 speed gearbox (2012my i think) but for 2011my the TDV6 was stated at 210bhp so it seems there is confusion over the changeover and some models (i.e mine) were badged as SDV6 while still stating TDV6 on the documents
Another guy also queried this when he rang me so its a bit of a grey area

I think the correct history is that prior to 2011 the 3.0 245 BHP engine was badged by dealers as SDV6 but registered as TDV6.
After 2011 the 3.0 255 BHP engine was introduced and badged and registered as SDV6.
If you have earlier 2009-2011 TDV6 badged as SDV6 is the lesser 245 engine and worth less
If you have the later 2011+ SDV6 badged as SDV6 its the 255 engine and worth more.
In other words all 245 BHP are the same (TDV6 on trade systems) and worth the same its the 255 lower emissions engine cars that are worth more on trade systems.
Hope this makes it clearer.
PS: The 2009-2013 210 BHP TDV6 was in the Commercials.

That makes sense (i think ) . Did the 255bhp (8 speed) come out on a 2011model year or 2012?. The 8 speed is definitely worth more and more sort after but i didn't think that was available until 2012 model year
My mate has a 10 plate XS and that is badged "3.0 TDV6 XS" and is also as far as i know 245bhp but has no DPF. Whereas mine is badged "SDV6 XS"
Reading between the lines, after 2011my the cars badged "TDV6" (210bhp) were ONLY available on commercials?

2012 Model available in 2011.
As far as valuation systems are concerned:
2011 210 BHP Commercial
2011 245 BHP Badged TDV6/SDV6 worth the same
2011 255 BHP Badged SDV6 worth more

OK EDIT to above....
Using our system for TRADE values:
2011/11 XS 50000 miles (average)
a) SDV6 255BHP £24785
b) SDV6 245BHP £24200
c) TDV6 245BHP £23810
Problem is I have never seen DVLA data (System or V5) showing a 245 BHP listed as SDV6. However WIKI show all 2009 - 2011 245 BHP as SDV6.
Therefore my revised thinking (as far as valuations are concerned) is that the 2009-2011 245BHP DPF engines were SDV6 and the non DPF TDV6 with a small value difference in favour of SDV6 (DPF).
Post 2011 (2012 Model) you only had two choices:
255 BHP SDV6 Car
210 BHP TDV6 Commercial

My April 2011 manufactured D4 SDV6 (on the badge and V5) was only 245 bhp (verified against the VIN, and by LR as it gave me insurance problems trying to select the right model).

^ Yes well that fits with the above three 2011 valuations.
If it does not say SDV6 on the V5/Vin it will be valued at the slightly cheaper TDV6.
