Auto gearbox oil and sump change
E mailed bristol transmissions re the steel sump for the 2.7td auto box. Price looks very good.
Question has anyone used Ravenol aftermarket fluid. Is it any good or should I stick with zf life guard
Email below
Steel sump conversion kit
The sump conversion kit is £60
You can either have genuine ZF Lifeguard transmission oil (6Litres @ £13 per
litre = £78
Or you can have our popular Ravenol ZF6HP aftermarket fluid (6Litres @ £7.50 per
litre =£45)

For the extra £33 I'd go with the ZF stuff

To be honest that's what I was thinking. But wanted to check as they are well respected and this oil comes recommend.

I'd go for the cheapest ATF that meets or preferably exceeds the ZF specification. I don't think Lifeguard 6 would make my shortlist as there is better stuff out there, including better stuff under the Lifeguard brand.
Change early, change often.

go with the Ravenol and since you got the steel pan change the fluids more often.

The Ravenol will do just fine, as will others. Febi is also a choice favoured by many, as is the latest Mannol.
Using the right ATF is critical and back in the day only Lifeguard 6 cut the mustard. But time moves on as oil blenders would go out of business if they didn't keep pace. My future stock is Lifeguard 8 (was cheap on eBay) and Mannol AG60.
