Help - EMS Fault Loss Of Power Black Smoke (Egrs Blocked)

As it says above just come back from long 250 mile journey, 30 miles from home, bong Engine Management System Fault, loss of power up hills and black smoke when I accelerate.

No other lights on the dash came on.

ERG blanked about 8 years ago.

Any ideas what this could be (Intercooler Hose, but would EMS fault come up?)

I hope so, but would it have shown an EMS fault?

Just tried the car again now cooled down no fault showing and no reduction in power, is is possible that after long high sped drive in hot weather the intercooler hose could deform?

The layers of rubber and canvas in the pipes can delaminate and collapse internally. Generally the pipe feels spongy and easier to squeeze if this has happened.

Bought a new intercooler hose at lunch time £45.00 in Gibraltar, hopefully this will solve the problem.
