Switched it off before they get here, now can just say "fire, what fire?".
Remote works a treat, air on the screen was warming up nicely. Just got to try & see if timed is working, will let it cool down first then try it later. Timed heat would be very useful for when heading off at stupid o'clock so still trying to get it to work.

If you use the manual heat button, does it run continuously until you turn it off? It's not going off after a few minutes like mine then?
I need to check mine again as I read somewhere that having the door open might cause it to stop.

OK Manual heat works fine, just got to go into it with the car shut down, pressing the on button on the radio. AUTO light flashes & FBH is whirring. Got the timer set for a few minutes, will have a look and see how it's doing. Getting there.
Answering your question, fan it for about 5 minutes before I shut it down. Once seen if the timer bit works, will start it up manually & leave it.

Ok so mine is working, but then turns off after a few minutes exactly when the car goes to sleep (when the IPC goes off and the steering column clicks in).
It's strange as the radio stays in etc.
When that happens, the park heat button won't allow it to be pressed (its not greyed out) just won't stay pressed etc. If I open the door and the car wakes up, I can then start the parked heat again.
Battery is at 95% charged according to the IID. No faults registered.

Step away from the technology Derek, it'll only end in with you.LRs are a fond memory, apart from the maintenance.

Timed bit still not playing. Set it for 4:10, went out and looked at 4:17 and no FBH action and no light on for the AUTO switch. Next step I think is to fully charge the battery, the car did a 600 miles trip a couple of weeks ago so would have thought it was full.
MrH, you know that I know my limitations, but the words "soldering iron" have not been mentioned yet so I'm still comfortable.

Re timed climate not working.
Had this prob on MY11 and MY12, it appeared every time battery was discharged, I'm not talking flat, but if you left the doors open when working on it, watching TV,or such like, then it goes into auto shut down with low batt warning coming up on dash.
My cure for it that worked every time, well till the batt was discharged to much again, was to do a "hard reset"
Details in WIki, even kept small spanner and length of wire in batt box to do when away, if it occurred.
(Now your a tech whiz kid , no problem for you )
It did not matter if you recharged main battery with charger, timed climate would not work again till hard reset done.
I stand to be corrected on this point, but think timed climate operation goes through a more stringent check list operation than the remote operation, which would explain why one is working and the other not.D4 Landmark MY16 Santorini Black THE LAST

I did the CCF update and if I remember there is a hard reset at the end of the CCF edit routine. Will do a seperate hard reset tomorrow via the IID.
One odd thing I did notice was I closed the bonnet to test it all, I'd not put the battery and fuse covers in place. The car just chirped when I tried to lock it with the remote or handle. Would only lock when I put the covers on!!! Far too clever by half.

Now it's a bit nippy (3.4c) set the time for 08:40, FBH is howling away and the AUTO light is on.
Been on for 10 mins and still going strong, will leave it for the full cycle & see how long it runs for.
Tomorrow will use the dibber to see how long it runs for.
PS 15 minutes in and still going, just stuck my hand in the car and the blown air feels warm.

It ran for about 20 minutes, went out to see if all toastie. Fired up the car & was greeted with the LOW BATTERY, START YOUR ENGINE warning. Initially showed 11.7V on the battery, then alternator kicked in, when shut down after a few mins it was 12.0V. Couldn't see if the coolant temp was up as just got this in the screen. The info screen informed me that timed climate & FBH was no longer available due to low battery.

Battery is original, June 11, so might be time for a replacement. Off out with my trusty DMM to see what it's like at the terminals.

Battery at 11.9V so it's not a happy bunny. Might be time to change it, off to seach on D4 batteries.
Coolant was up to 30c so deffo doing its thing, with 10 minute more would have been nice & toastie.
