Battery changing woes - lost bolt!
Hi,
I figured swapping out my battery would be simple, recently did this for our other car, an old Mercedes... but not only did I manage to get a battery a bit too wide (first was too long!) In spite of the compatibility searches on various vendor websites - but I so managed to lose the battery tray plastic clip, more importantly, the nut for the positive battery terminal.
They rolled/fell into a wee hole and I assume they're trapped inside the front of the Disco, where I can't easily reach.
A few aestions:
Anyone else have this happen - and if so - where did yours end up? Don't want to take the whole front off if it isn't necessary
Is it possible to replace this but with another (13mm?) but, or can these ones LR used be found elsewhere?

well you only need to loosen the nuts a little rather than remove.
You will have to give us a clue where it rolled to ?

True... I got a little overambitious and removed them
It rolled towards the headlamp, down the wheel arch bulge.
There seems to be a small space where things can slip down, the tray clip retainer went there as well.
I've got a endoscopic camera at home, I'll give that a go as well when I get in.

Its unbelievable the distance a dropped nut/bolt/screw/clip can travel much further than any golf ball try tapping the plastic under tray up with your hand and listen for a rattle, take the engine under tray off that's the usual place. Last time I lost one I think the dog must have run off with it It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

Thanks for the tips, I was aware of the ease in removing the grill but not the lights, will give that a go!
Same for the tray... good idea. Thanks!

One of the few things I still use air lines for - blowing dropped parts clear.
