Spike, have a look at cutting the corner from Mjolby to Gavle, avoiding Stockholm. Not much longer time wise (done it 3 times) and much better chances of wild camping if that's where you are going to stop.

PS Though looking at the mileage that's a bit far south for camping. As long as it's not rush hour time at Stockholm then it might be best to stonk on through.

Legs been good mate, thanks. Keep meaning to do some phys out here, I brought a TRX and planned to do some but it's always been too cold or the water for washing afterwards was too icy.
Well, update... I'm back in the UK tonight after a long day, 2 planes, a coach, 2 trains, a taxi and a long walk. I feel sorry for the people sat next to me, I wreaked of smoke.
Very interesting night, last night. We arrived in the vicinity of Lulea Airport, checked out some back roads which led to some holiday cottage style houses. No one was around so we decided to leave the car in a extra wide clearing and put the tent up at the side.
Snow turned out to be over a metre deep, often collapsing underfoot. We collapsed a focused spot and dug it out slightly, putting the tent over the top. Later on we heard something moving in the snow, we crept out and turned the torches on, expecting to see some reindeer. We were met by 3 sets of orange reflecting eyes, forward facing which put their head down when walking forward. No idea what they were but we absolutely it. I was banging the axe and shovel together to make a racket before diving back in the tent. At the time we thought wolves but after inspecting the tracks we think something slightly smaller. Looking at other tracks, they were possibly after the snow hares.
Temp dropped to -6 at sunset then -12 through the night up to first light. It really was cold. The gas bottles weren't burning, wet wipes would pull from the packet then instantly freeze in whatever crumpled position they came out in. It really was hard work. The batteries don't like the cold too much so I kept Chris' genius boost in my pocket all night, just incase it was needed in the morning. It wasn't, FBH fired up and it started.
Rear upper tailgate handle seized again, at -2 the key fob remote unlocked it, at -12 that just beeped. I used the iid to unlock it which was easy enough. Think that's all for now, tired!

Ski Phase complete and now in Finland. Should be out the other side in an hour and into Norway. Nordkapp tomorrow
The ice on the headlight is a good few mm thick.
Coming up the snowy track a few times each day in varying conditions was no trouble at all. One day deep snow, then slushy snow, then iced over smoothed slush. I tried my best to get it stuck, the most I got was a fully locked centre diff but no spinning. Very impressed.
