Auto gearbox leak

Got a fluid leak from the wiring plug to the gearbox, got a new seal tube which is held in place by a clip which is accessed by dropping the sump pan, my question is does the pan have to be removed or can it be manoeuvred to gain access to the clip? Don’t really want to change to a steel pan.

Thanks in advance
 Steve

Now that is a good question. Laughing

Or course you are relying on the old sump seal resealing
It might work

It's not difficult to replace the sump, while it's practically off anyway Thumbs Up

Change the pan, it doesn't take much to snap the filter tube off if you aren't careful.

Another vote for changing to the steel pan. Many benefits to be had by changing the fluid and filter. If you want to save some money, buy a used steel pan off a BMW. I think mine cost 1/3 of what it would be new and was in perfect condition.
