Fault codes P0191 , P2290, U0138 , U0151, U0121 & U0416. |
|
My Disco3 has done nearly 49k miles, still on original battery & alternator. Driving at about 65 MPH I floored the throttle to overtake - the result multiple messages & bongs, with reduced power.
I pulled over as soon as possible, switched off & restarted, since when no further problems. I have now been able to read the fault codes which are:-
P0191 - Fuel rail pressure sensor range/performance
P2290 - Injector control pressure too low
U0138 - Lost communication with all terrain control module
U0151 - Lost communication with restraints control module
U0121 - Lost communication with ABS control module
U0416 - Invalid data received from vehicle dynamics control module
Thoughts & suggestions please.

Hi NJSS,
I had identical symptoms not too long ago with P2290 logged and it turned out to be the Low Pressure Fuel Pump.
Thankfully not an expensive part and are available from Advanced Factors - boringoldgit

Thanks Nick
Did you have all those fault codes or only P2290?
I am a little suspicious of my battery, I charge regularly with a CTEK charger, and it was on charge for 36 hours at the weekend. The fault codes referred to above occurred partway into a 150 mile round trip two days after this.
With winter coming I'm wondering whether it wouldn't be a good idea to fit a new battery.

I'm with Nick - although worth checking your hoses and intercooler first in case a hole or delamination is on the list I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

did you follow the filter priming process? I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

Sorry for the delay!
I had some various 'U' errors but definitely didn't have the P0191 error.
Hope this helps! 55 Plate TDV6 HSE Bonatti Grey, Cool Box, D4 Bluetooth, Side Steps, BAS EGR Blanking, V8 Discs, Polybush Dynamics, SNOTM, Three Flash Indicators, HIDS4U LED Sidelights, Replacement Clock Spring, TSL, Auto Box Flush + Dr. Tranny, BAS Remap IIDTool V2.18

Quite possibly in tank pump, or blocked pick up filter then.
Check for fuel pressure at the bleed valve on top of the engine. Should only be 0.5-0.6 bar of pressure, and pump out a fair amount of diesel when pressed. If these are OK, then start looking at the high pressure side of the system My D3 Build Thread

After 136KM PO191 error has been detected using faulmate.
If the filter has been changed and continue with this error, then could be the sensor or fuel pump?,
