Car ramp suggestions - which/what to use?
Having had a scare with a trolly jack yesterday (D3 slipped off it before I’d put the axle stands under...!) I am thinking of investing in some drive-on ramps.
Does anyone here use them and have any recommendations? I am thinking something like the below which I could use whilst putting the car in access or off-road height on the suspension? Would that be safe?
I need to do some work on the Park Brake module so am going to be deep under the car. I’ll pop some high 6 tonne axle stands in place too just to be sure!!

Hi
Hope you’ve put ur heart back now, had an old series come off the jack , main thing is ur safe and sound
The spare wheel bit that u broke is part number RRY500070
Mine was broke when I bought mine, got it from a breakers ,
I bought 4 x of those styled ramps and found them very good and like u say along with some axle stands , the ramps I got were rated at 3 x Ton each as abit of an overkill as I was using x4 , but see the ones in the link are rated for 3 x tons per pair
Personally I’ve always pulled fuse F26 after putting it into off road height and before jacking , the guys here can confirm that 100% if that’s the correct thing to do, only because I’ve been concerned it trying to self level

Cheers, all calmed down now. It was worrying for a moment but and whilst I’m stupid enough to allow that to happen I’m not quite silly enough to have gotten under it like that. Thankfully.
Thanks for the part number, I’ll get that ordered.
Re the ramps, I’ll hunt for the higher rated ones as like you I like to over engineer things. Can’t be too safe!

Flack has got some good ramps ... no idea brand or source, but if you drop him a PM I'm sure he'll share info .

I've been using ones like this for a few years now and they are great. I wouldn't be without them.
What a great link, I like the job but alas time is difficult. I’ll opt for some strong plastic ramps I think.
Thanks though, it always amazes me the detail some will go to, to help out a fellow Lander.2022 BMW i4 M50. Bought Oct 2022. 10,200 miles and counting...
