Air Suspension compressor - 05TDV6 HSE

We've had the amber suspension lamp come on soon after starting up for a while. Now it turns red every so often. Since the car has now covered 190000 miles, I suspension that just like my previous L322 and my BMW 5 series the compressor has worn out.

Is there is simple (cheap!) diagnostic software that will read suspension faults so I can confirm my diagnosis please? (I use INPA on the BMW and on the L322)?

I spoke to the independent garage that did the last few services before we bought the car - he said he'd fit any compressor I provided, but prefers genuine ones as others can be questionable. Can anyone recommend / supply a suitable compressor for my 05 D3 please? There are lots on ebay I know, but unsure which might need a 'software' update, or will die within a year or whatever.

Many thanks
David

My D3 has 196,000 miles on it and occasionally gives me the orange light. I was wondering how much a new compressor is rather than mending the old? I guess it’s seen some action over the years and the car is still regularly covering five hundred miles in a weekend.

I'm just outside of Kenilworth, I have an IId tool that would read your codes, let me know if you want to pop over.

Is there a comprehensive rebuild kit available for the Hitachi compressor?

Apologies I haven't been on here for some time and wasn't aware i'd had responses. With lockdown easing I guess its time to get the D3 off its bumpstops ready to tow the caravan again!
I'm thinking it might be worth investing in an IID tool or similar myself...
