Tailgate switch corroded wires
Here is one that might be of interest to someone.
After lots of investigations and a new tailgate switch (which it needed anyway) it turned out the wire from the switch to the plug had corroded through.
There was no visible damage to the wire that I could see.
The only thing noticeable was a bulge in the outer insulation like when a snake eats a pig lol.
When I cut it open wire had corroded away completely.
