D4 Front Bumper Upgrade to D3
Hi All
So whilst waiting for a solution to my other brake problem post I decided to fit the D4 bumper upgrade today only to find it does not fit!
No matter what I did it would not go right into the top clip fitting and seemed to be different on the top corners and was way off below. I am sure many people have done this so my question is is the D4 crash bar slimmer on the D4 than the D3 or does the bumper just need some fettling to fit.
I did remove two screwed on plastic fixtures each side before trying but as I was doing it single handed I could not get down below to look and see what was stopping or fouling the fitment.

Hi All
So A bit more information. I have taken the D3 bumper off again and think i can see what the problem is, the plastic and rubber lipped air scoop shroud behind directing the air to the rad and oil cooler is a different size to the aperture on the D4 bumper, hence the D4 bumper will not sit into it.
I have seen others on the forum have done this mod so did you remove the air shroud completely and fit the bumper or mod the shroud or inside back of the D4 bumper so it fitted or replaced the shroud with one for a D4??
Really would appreciate any help with this problem please

Wow thats really detailed but for some reason the pictures are not loading which is frustrating but interesting reading.
I have just been out shaving some plastic off the air vent surround and now have the bumper is nearly ready for bolting on as it was fouling the vent shroud. Unfortunately its the bog standard D4 bumper with no jets or fogs or sensors but it will do for now
NOTE is any forum members have a stornoway grey D4 front bumper in good nick please give me a shout even better if its loaded with bezels fogs sensors etc

Apologises , don’t know why there not loading
Did enter different things , ie, D4 front bumper mod, air inlet etc etc , alas couldn’t find any pictures solely on the air inlet
Sorry about that but will try some more searching to see if I can find anything
Hopefully someone else that’s done the mod will see this thread and be able to help further

Dam it, wrong colour , plus I assume u would need headlight washers if u have or intend to fit xenon headlights

Yes have the xenons and also need fog light equipped bumper really I already have the bog standard bumper and its cheaper to buy one with all the fittings than to cut out mine and purchase all the bits for conversion etc
