Decided to change the rear struts on the tailgate today, simple job, clip at each end and off they pull. So using the correct tool, a nice hooked pick from my set of picks I gently teased the clip off trying not to launch it into oblivion. Inner self told me very sternly not to put my finger in front of that very sharp hooked pick tool as I wiggled it under the clip. If it slipped it would hurt and make me swear and prove that I am a total twonk in not listening.....
Did I listen, did I hell, the tool slipped the hook stabbed into my finger as far as it was possible to go. It hurt like hell and I screamed every profanity I knew and a few that I made up as I danced about holding my throbbing bleeding finger. 12 hours later it is still throbbing like it had been hit multiple times with a club hammer and then slammed in a train door.....
When that little voice in your head tells you not to do something, best to follow that advice.....
Going to clean the chain on my motorbike tomorrow, must listen, must listen!!!------------------------------

You've got my sympathy, I did exactly the same thing a few years back, I lost use of my right fore finger for around 6 months, one consultant recommended amputation he even draw on my hand where he would take it off , I declined and saw another consultant privately he told me it had severed the nerve and the nerve grew at the rate of 1mm a month, he was right 3 years on and my finger was back to normal. It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.
