hi every one ive just joined this site and so far found it very interesting im trying to find out the easy way to open a tail gate that is mechanicaly jammed shut do i have to cut the trim to get it off any info would be great

When mine had a dodgy moment, (the dog was in the boot) I was able to get in by getting someone to pull on the handle, whilst i sat inside with the two buttons on the dash held down (lock and unlock) after a few seconds you hear a thump and thats when you yank the tailgate. next step was the dealers who fitted a new boot handle and lock under warranty. Must stop buying shiny toys....

thanks to every one who helped un jamming my tail gate after 3 hours alot of swearing a bit of blood and the local rover dealer sloggy me seventy dollars aust for a lock assy with a cable it now works again until the poxy cable breaks its elbow again but this time i made the manual release haha once again cheers have a great easter
