EGR Valves or something else ?
Evening all,
I've noticed for quite a few months now a distinct lack of power when cold and starting on a hill (manual box) which entails a lot of clutch slipping and over revving to get up said hill !
I now have a total lack of power until the turbo kicks in when all is then fine
I am hoping that this is going to be the EGR valves (I take it that one had gone and now both have packed in ?) and I can therefore get them both blanked off (2006 model)
Does this sound correct or am I mis-diagnosing things? I have no lights on the dash warning me of any problem.
Cheers
Rhys

Sounds very much like EGR fault, which doesn't bring up any warning light on 2005 or 2006 MY cars. And yes you can happily blank them off 06 D3 SE / 15 LR D90 XS SW / 88 LR 90 Td5 / 68 BMW 2000 ti
Any issues with the site let me know!

Oh I soooo hope this is the case. Going to speak to a garage owner tomorrow (not stealer) who has blanked off a few others and has offered to do it for me.
I was thinking of getting a kit from Bell Autos, anyone tried one ? Seem like good quality/ price.

EGR replacement blanking kit received, fitted and what an improvement !
It makes an astonishing difference to the performance of the Disco, well worth the cost if you think even the one EGR valve has gone - wish I'd done it ages ago !

I don't know if this will come through or not but I will give it a go, just downloaded it from the Bell Auto website.
