funny enough i've been reading about this company on another forum
never heard of them before and now see they have got a really bad name
seems by the dates of these posts they've been scamming people for years
hopefully by them trying to spam on forums the word will go round faster how bad they are

Sadly Gary there will always be a line of willing mugs who will use them and more afterwards to keep on using them, even with all the tech we have at our hands people dont do their research.

This will cause a stir,
i must be a Willing mug
I have a Global engine.
had it for about 4- years now, I am in no way endorsing or praising them but
when my engine blew I was self-employed and using the D3 for towing I couldn't afford stealer prices and if I didn't get back on the road then it was game over.
I used Global as a last resort,
I got it done for less than the dealer wanted for a short motor,
yes I know it would have been new with warranty etc but at a quoted cost of over £10 grand on an 05 with high mileage and had been worked it wasn't going to happen, wasn't worth spending that on it and hadn't got it anyway
it was done within a couple of weeks of being delivered to them and I collected it and drove it back
it hasn't missed a beat since
was it a recon ...I don't know
was it just another engine from a donor/write off....i don't know but my guess is probably
they did it with the body on and I paid for a new clutch at the same time
the car was at 189000 miles when I had it done and is now on 245000 and I haven't had an issue at all with it
I only had an issue when after 8 months the clutch was going again (it was used for towing 3.5 tonne daily) I tried to get the receipt for the clutch from them to get it replaced by the main dealer under warranty but they couldn't/wouldn't produce it, I know it did have one as I had the old one back and it was the one it had had before from the markings I knew were on it
in am in no way suggesting anybody should use them just merely giving my story
Cheers

very true , seeing they want 3.5k to supply and fit a tdv6 engine , is still a lot of money if the engine blows up within days or weeks of it being fitted
at least warnings are there for any prospective future customers

hi andy
good to hear and by the sounds of it you've been one of the lucky ones
been reading other reviews from customers who have gone to them and nightmares they've endured
trouble is companies like this just change their name and start back up again, with the minimum amount of repercussions

Global Engines and Gearbox Ltd have just posted a new thread here using the domain name "reconditioned-enginespecialists.co.uk" - the thread has, quite correctly, been deleted - another name to keep in mind though.

They keep spamming the forum with ads so I would take that as a mark in the "don't use" box. 06 D3 SE / 15 LR D90 XS SW / 88 LR 90 Td5 / 68 BMW 2000 ti
