A mate of mine has bought a D3 GS and i am wondering if the switches i took off my SE would work with his steering wheel if when i fit the switches i put the wiring in to?
Or will it require someonr with a gadget to make them work?D3 54plate TDV6 SE Java Black

Did this to mine. Radio buttons will work straight off but cruise will need enabling. Easy mod to do D4 MY15 SE TECH
D3 gone but never forgotten.
Would a garage be able to enable it? If so im sure we can find a garage to do it... if not what would be needed...?
And its only cruise control with radio and mode buttons...D3 54plate TDV6 SE Java Black

You just need someone with an IID or similar fault code reader to enable cruise in the CCF.D4 MY15 SE TECH

The honest answer is most probably not.
The D3 is rather intolerant of generic code readers, as used by most everyday garages and requires somewhat more specialist equipment to see what's going on, particularly for updates.
Your best option is to fit all the buttons to the steering wheel ( audio should work straight away ) but as mentioned, cruise will require activating using a suitable diagnostic tool, so shout up on the forum as there will be somebody local(ish), who for a small donation, will have you up and running in no time at all. Mods:

Don't worry the cruise will work without needing to be enabled. The enabling just makes the light in the dash come on when you enable cruise, however it should work with the functions and the radio controls without a problem, you just won't have the small speedo symbol lit on the dashMust stop buying shiny toys....

My audio worked straight away but the cruise control definately did not work until it was enabled.
Not the right post but I have a set of audio and cruise buttons which I have not got round to advertising or putting on the bay yet

Added audio and cruise switches to my GS a couple of years ago, audio works immediately but cruise control needed to be enabled in the CCF. Local forum member with the correct diagnostic tool applied the update for me and it's worked ever since.
Be aware that the colour of the switch packs changed from the 2008 model year (I think) so make sure you get the right ones...
