If you have the liner tray as well its a nightmare the things are so springy when you try to fold them Rolling Eyes

Maybe another good question to ask is how many people could honestly say if they were asked to use their vehicle right now as a 7 seater if they could without removing anything from the car but still having 7 clear seats? Wink

Use 7 quite a bit - every couple of weeks as a rule. Then often use 6 taking the inlaws with us on various trips and holiday in the summer.

Censored that, will stick with rubber mat, liner tray and maybe get a ton bag of rocks put in as a back up Whistle

If you check this out you will find the seat belt mechanism holding the seat up...forcing it down bends & breaks things...aso try holding up the release catch as you press it down

Mine used seldom in the 6 years of ownership......but when they were it was me who was in there...from the french alps to here...the rear climate system works very well.
Actually the seats arent that bad...better than the D2 ones that depended on you having deformed legs...but not as handy as the D1 "jump" seats that were easy to fold down & use.

FL2 has DIPSTICK..."real comfort in rear seats"
VW Golf wondermobile (?)..has real DIPSTICK
Morris Minor..original DIPSTICK technology..and a real KEY.

Sometimes they are used Daily for a short period of time usually summer, or rarely but just very useful to have. It is Alain though having to lift the seats to get to the spare. Must get round to making a socket on a 1/4 drive extension to suit.

Seven seats were the main reason for buying the Disco. Three kids: stick one in the back and the warfare is curtailed.

They're rarely folded flat (seats, not the kids).

+1 blowpipe Thumbs Up , keeps the peace but they still fight for the back seat Rolling Eyes

Rubber mat gets left in the garage when I need the third row of seats, all very easy when used as designed, i.e. from the rear passenger doors, up and down in seconds and easy access for both.

From what I see on here there are only a few who actually use the 7 seats and they are only able to be used if 'pre planned' i.e. you have cleared your boot in advance, so is it really a deal clincher for LR to make a 7 seater, it seem something that people 'think' they need but in reality the majority hardly ever use it?

So maybe a Range Rover 5 seater would do the job and use a cab when you need the extra seat now and again Wink

We often end up using 6 seats at short notice.

Having the TransK9 cage for the dog, means that the sixth seat can easily be popped up Thumbs Up

Got to give a shout out to the team at Shukers at Ludlow. When Jules picked up the car, they advised her to have the roll up mat, rather than the more rigid/springy liner you talk about.
