No real concern just see the 6/7th seats as kids seats and as it was the wife & her crowd I was looking for a way to ban them from using it to drive to Deal & back...

It's the reason I bought a D3 in the first place, I will not drive MPV crap.
I have LR products for off roading and did not want a 4x4 for road work as I don't tow at the moment (this might change though) but this seemed the nicest 7 seater and it works in the office car park!Series 1 V8

We have used the third row 3 or 4 times this year, once was during a 600 mile run across France. I wanted 7 seats to save having to use 2 cars on the rare occassion that we go out as a family. There are 6 of us . The children are grown up, mid to late teens and early twenties. We are all short 's so the third row isn't too uncomfortable.
The only feature that I wish the D3 had is a forward folding front passenger seat-back. The load area is just too short for 2.4m timber etc.
We have had a couple of older MPV's, Espace and 806, removing and storing the seats when not needed was a pain, but the space in a stripped out car was great.Simon.

On longer runs we tend to use the two middle row outer seats & one of the rear ones to split the kids up a bit - eldest can get very fractious very quickly so it's worth the minute needed to move my work stuff to one side of the boot & put a seat up for him. Keeps everyone calmer & therefore safer.
Daily use of one of the third row seats in SWMBO's, occasional use in mine as I try to avoid having the kids/crumbs in minePaul.

Never used mine in twelve years, with four vehicles changed every three years.
Load liner fitted on receipt of Vehicle and only removed on sale of vehicle.
I wished there was an option for the D4 of five or seven seats, I'd plump for the five every time.

Me too, never used mine in 10 1/2 years. For the D3 they've been under a bed for 7 1/2 of those years and a load deck fitted instead.

I am happy that I have got possibility to use the third row (but I use it twice a year during our holidays).
The whole year rear space is used for our labs .
And yes... very often when we are staying in our cottage in the mountains it is necessary to use disco as a truck - also to load longer timber **********

I use my third row seat every other weekend or so taking various family members and their hideous offspring on days out.. I have a dog guard behind the second row and whilst it is a bit of a pain to get out and in, now I have got the knack of it, it only takes a couple of minutes.
Sometimes I just fold down the middle seats and let the little darlings just clamber through into the back seats rather than removing the dog guard.
Only issue I have now is that one of the handles on the release lever has come off and no amount of superglue or araldite holds it together so I cunningly crafted a piece of string!
Someone asked about doing long runs with people in the third row, have done a 2000 mile European trip with 6 people and for that we used the 2 outer middle row seats, folded the middle seat back down. The 2 people in the third row were 5ft 10 and 5 ft 8 and they never had any problems comfort wise but their only gripe was their seats were not heated

Use mine at Christmas, saves taking two cars but for the rest of the year they are folded away and replaced with the dogs bed.23.5MY Defender 90 X-Dynamic SE D250 MHEV Pangea Green
