Do I need a rotating one, or fixed?
I assume rotating as the Sankey eye is fixed?
Is the Penman trailer eye also fixed?
thanks.
edited to add: does anyone have one for sale?

You need a rotating hitch if the eye if fixed. The forces involved are tremendous if you get it wrong. Pictures of the Penman seem to show fixed eye.

thanks - some Sankey owners apparently say their eye rotates, but I'm wondering if they're actually supposed to be fixed and they've not got them adjusted right, as they talk about unscrewing a blot.....?

IIRC all Sankey eyes rotate so you need the NATO hitch in the locked position. De-Tango
V8 Brakes
EGRs blanked
Running boards
3 flash indicators and clock on dash
Blingy grille...

ok thanks. Seems like it's worth spending extra to get a Nato hitch that can rotate though? It seems some are permanently fixed.....

I had a Mk1 narrow track & that had a rotating eye, the Mk 2 & 3 had a fixed eye, except one that the reverse lock had broken & then it would rotate. The hitch usually has a plate on it to say which type of hook is required. Most NAtO Hooks of the Land Rover size can be rotating or locked to be fixed. A rotating eye and hook combination is not recommended as in certain articulations it can lock solid and break either the hitch, hook, drawbar or chassis , and I have seen the result
