How to wire in a pioneer head unit

Hi there I have a D3 08 GS with the basic stereo. I have just bought a pioneer avh280-but head unit to jolly up the inside. I have remover the standard head unit and there are 2 connection blocks going into the old radio but the ISO fitting kit only connects to one of these. The other is left dangling. A little tikes myself. Can anyone advise me on my next step please. Thank you

Next step is continue.

small plug is for the mic and aux input, so your new unit should work fine

You'll need to put in an ignition switched live directly in order to power a STD radio up.

Thank you Bodsy. Is it a case of the car doesn't recognise the new unit ?

No, the stereo needs an ign switched live, the factory stereo doesn't use one directly its controlled by other things.

Get the ignition supply from the fag lighter socket.

It will probably goto a yellow or red wire on the new radios wiring. (which ever isn't connected)

The fag lighter socket should work with the ignition switched to I
also known as accessory/radio.
