Transmission ecu

Morning all, finally got car back home from my mates garage, unfortunately untouched as they have no idea why it “throws a double six” when you select reverse but also when driving forward once it gets warm, I saw a few YouTube vids last night and I’ve got a couple of avenues to go down
1/ check battery life
2/ change transmission fluid & filter
I’ve posted the fault codes previously but they have been confirmed that they are almost a byproduct of the “system failure” etc…….
Any further information regarding the transmission ecu will be greatly appreciated

It’s a saying on a similar basis of “thrown your teddies out of the pram”

I’ve just dropped the transmission fluid and i haven’t measured it exactly but there’s certainly nowhere near even 6 litres let alone 10, I’d say more like 3 !, I’m going to let it drip overnight and I’ll have an exact amount once drained

3 is approx correct without pumping oil out the torque convertor.

A crude way to get 7 litres out, is to run the engine for 30 seconds.

You can get a bit more out by undoing the small cooler pipe on the rad, on the passenger side

And leaving it, for a few days

I think it will take more than a oil change to sort it, good luck, I hope you haven’t upset the person most likely to have the knowledge to help you Thumbs Up

Here is the oil change method that a number of people have used,

https://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/filos-autob...light=filo

There are various themes on this, as I suggested above.

Are you getting an F displayed on the dash? and/or orange lights when it does a 66 Rolling Eyes Laughing

If yes, a fault code will probably be stored.

Buy an Autel AP200 white (from £44) or £70 amazon if you are in a hurry, to give you the full fault code.
Sadly its likely to give you a code that means the gearbox is toast.

I think you have little to loose pumping the fluid out

Autel

You can get an Autel AP200 White code reader for between £44 (direct) and £70 (amazon)

These are excellent value for money on the prefacelift models
Key programming, Suspension calibration.
Can't change CCF options

https://www.autelstore.co.uk/wholesale/aut...anner.html

If you need it quickly order from amazon

Just as a foot note to my little situation, in my head a thought that’s been swirling round is although I’ve only recently bought the car and probably not even driven 3-4 miles in it ! (partly due to being brought to my house on the back of an AA truck) it’s got 150k miles on the clock so it can’t have been doing this for very otherwise it wouldn’t have that kind of mileage on……… surely !!
