Two holes in the roof
Hi All
Collected my Discovery last week. Love it.
Two minor issues, door seal drivers side disintegrated this week, no problem however dealer immediately responded and both door seals to be replaced Wednesday.
More concerning, whilst cleaning yesterday I found two drilled and tapped holes in the roof, just forward of the roof rails? They sit roughly above the middle of the driver and passenger seats but as mentioned are just in front of the roof rails ie where the roof drops.
Any ideas what they were for
Guess they need to be filled pretty quickly, corrosion etc..
Thanks
Peanut

As Chris said, they're where an expedition rack was mounted. If you look at pics of an expedition rack it has 2 support posts at the front. These holes are where it was fixed.Disco 5 HSE Lux

Yup definitely the front fixing point for the roof rack - just put so blank electric tape over it to keep dirt out.LRs are a fond memory, apart from the maintenance.

Go to B & Q and get some furniture repair caps (black plastic type), clear mastic the in the hole, cheap n cheerful removable quick fix, more permanent than tape
Or take it back to dealer you bought it from and get them to seal it. Guess you did'nt look up there for roof damage b4 purchasing ooops
