TyrePal Tyre Pressure Monitoring User Advice Thread
I know quite a few people have ordered these TD1000 TyrePal Tyre Pressure Monitoring remote units so have set up this thread for hints advice, and help setting the alarms e.t.c.
Mine is dispatched 1st class hopefully get it tomorrow

How it works
Valve-cap sensors continuously measure the pressure and temperature of the tyres and transmit the information wirelessly to a monitor where it is displayed and updated within seconds of any change.
What it tells you
The system continuously displays the pressure of all the tyres. Temperature can be displayed by pressing a button. Alerts sound if a pressure falls below a pre-set level or if a tyre temperature rises above a set level. A leak or puncture triggers a repeating alarm
3-minute installation
Just screw the sensors onto the tyres in place of the existing valve caps and fit the anti-theft collars if required. Position the monitor in view of the driver and the job’s done.
Units and alert levels
Pressure can be displayed in psi, bar or Kpa. Temperature is in °C or °F. Alert thresholds for low pressure, high pressure and high temperature are adjustable from the default settings. Alert levels can be set independently for front and rear wheels. Maximum pressure is 60psi (cold inflation pressure), and accuracy is ± 1psi.
Power
The monitor is powered either by 2 x AAA cells or the vehicle 12V supply with the connector provided. Lithium batteries in the sensors last a year or more, and are replaceable. Advanced system design extends battery life by shutting the system down when not required and reactivating it when the vehicle is used. A warning is given when batteries need replacing.
Physical dimensions
The monitor is 91 x 75 x 22mm with a clear LCD display. The sensors are 20mm long x 20mm diameter and weigh just 11 grams. To prevent possible damage against the kerb, they should ideally fit without protruding beyond the profile of your tyres. In some cases it may be preferable to fit short-stem valves. There is usually no need to rebalance the wheels after fitting, as the weight is within the tolerance for most wheel-balancing
Specification summary
Display dimensions Monitor 91 x 75 x 22mm
LCD display 63 x 45mm
Display detail
Tyre pressures continuously displayed. Additional detail displayed as required.
Alarms
Beep and indicate when tyre pressure is above or below set level
Beep and indicate when tyre temperature is above set level
Repeating alerts are triggered by air loss from a puncture etc
Indicate if sensor signal is lost
Indicate if battery in monitor or sensor is low Alert levels for high and low pressure and for high temperature can be set by the user for front and rear axles independently.
Units
Pressure: psi, bar or Kpa
Temp: C or F
User input
Three multi-function buttons:
1. Mute/ advanced mode
2. Temperature display/ advanced mode
3. Backlight / advanced mode
Backlight
White glow, push button to operate
Monitor
Power - AAA cell or vehicle supply.
Automatically shuts down when not in use and reactivates as vehicle is used.
Monitor mounting - Articulated mount with suction mounting base
Sensors
Four external sensors replace standard tyre valve caps.
Sensors are pre-allocated to each wheel position, so they are operational as soon as they are fitted. If replacements are required, the monitor can learn the ID of new sensors.
Sensor dimensions
20 x 20 mm (height x diameter)
Weight 11g
Sensor accuracy
Pressure 0-60psi ± 1psi
Temperature ± 2°C
Sensor battery
Replaceable, life 12 months.
Security
Anti-theft collars prevent unauthorised removal of sensors.
Box contents
The system is complete and ready to go:
1 x Monitor unit
1 x Monitor stand with interchangeable suction base.
4 x Valve-cap sensors 0-60psi (cold inflation pressure)
1 x Anti theft set, containing 4 collars and locking tool
4 x Sensor batteries (Lithium CR1632)
2 x Monitor batteries (AAA 1.5V)
1 x Power connector for 12V vehicle socket[/b]

Here's some good advice. Put air in the tyres, not the boot.
PS I want one of those tyre gizmos but SWMBO says NO!! Mouse if anyone asks.

It measures the heat as well, when you get yours try holding it between our lips when you talk and check the monitor, you may be surprised how much hot air comes out

Have you seen the size of these transmitters?
You might have to re-balance your wheels?

Ok. I bought 3 sets today
Now before I get disowned by my kids for spending their inheritance, will someone please gag, handcuff and lock DT in a sealed container with no computer or any means of communication. This 'Product Awareness and Review Service' he is offering on the forum is causing serious health issues to my bank account!
