Tyres

I had a puncture recently and had to buy a new tyre as it couldn't be repaired. I put the new tyre on the front offside and put the spare on the front near side. The new tyre is a Pirelli and realised that the spare which looks new is a Goodyear.
They look similar treads but should they both be the same manufacturer?

The perfectionists will say you’re dicing with death, take yee out immediately and change all 4 as punishment for you getting a puncture. The pragmatists will say don’t worry about it, it’s not an F1 car and you won’t be liking life on the ragged edge. I ran my D3 with all sorts of weird combos with no problems, save your worrying for other things. Did someone say “crank”? Whistle Whistle

All tongue in cheek, no hedgehogs were harmed in the above. Thumbs Up

Mixed tyres won't make much difference in daily driving. You might notice it if you need to do an emergency brake as the tyres will perform differently. With modern ABS and stability control that won't stick you in a hedge but it might be the difference between hitting and stopping in time. But, that is in extremis. I prefer to run all four corners the same, but even then my spare is different so would be mismatched if I needed to fit it.
