Thank for the heads up. Sure it's the same on D3. Hopefully my Dremmel will do the job Laughing

My last dilemma is whether to bother with the chassis cavity squirting side of things. If I do, is there a map of where the holes are on the D3/4 or is just bleeding obvious?

Well I am going to buck the trend
I have restored 3 90s in my time and done properly its waxoyl for me .
all about the prep
just spent the last 2 weekends doing the new to me 09 D3, ok not to rusty under belly yet but the rear was on its way and the fuel tank bash tray was a little scruffy.
Cleaned off proper , not just a little tickle with a wire brush , grinder with the wire wheel on .
rustproof the weld as they show most rust spray with a little black paint then wax it 3 coats , job done
in total I've done 3 90s and 5 discos in my time , never welded one and the MOT guy always comments on my underneath's being the best he's seen .
Matter of opinion of course
Phil

Hi Phil, do you spray into the cavity of the chassis, i.e into the box sections through holes with a tube Or just on the outside?

I like what I have been reading so far. I've had a can of dinotrol now for a month and a can of leylands black on rust/metal paint but a little scared to jump in with my lack of knowledge. Could someone write a step by step and possibly even show some photos of key points and also say what to avoid.

Would be much appreciated and will myself show before and after photos (hoping it can help in some ways to others) of my work done.

Thanks guys.

Key points in the rear of the car.

You would be hard pushed to make anything worse, unless you poke a screwdriver through something.

Main point of concern is the rear of the car.

I got 2 dust pan brush fulls of solid mud/sand out of the rear of one side.

Mud was up to the dark rust line.

There are 2 screws in this area which hold the wheel arch in. They were complete siezed and needed grinding/drilling out.

On a RRS

While in this area you should remove the wheel arch plastic cap. It just clips on and off very easily.

One side was fine, but the other side was full up of sand/mud. I could actually feel the weight in it while removing it.

So this is a worth while 5 minute job to remove and clean and apply rust treatment

HI

Yes mate I do , if you by the applicator gun it comes with a 360 degree spray pattern flexi nozzle about 10 inch long so you can poke it most places
if the chassis is clean and not more than about 5 year old it should depending on use and location still have chassis paint intact
In that case 5 litres will do it I've found , just ad 10% white spirit when spraying its helps with application
oh yes , white spirit also good for getting the black waxoyl of the double glazing lol
if you have a field use it , hard work on the drive

Thanks for all the input and advice.
How important do you guys think steam cleaning after jet washing is (this seems to be the recommendation by dinitrol?

I think you need a more sound surface for Dinatrol
my Dad had a Landcruiser that had been treated with Dinatrol it came of in sheets once it had gone brittle
if you are thinking of washing underneath just have it steam cleaned , low pressure is better than high pressure water blasting all over , especially any seals
I actually enjoy doing it , gets you down under to have a look around at things you dont keep an eye on

I have just got my wife's new car done by a company just outside Glasgow, they made a lovely job of it using Dinitrol products. Can't remember if I am allowed to post their details on here ?
