Why do we seem to have contempt to our national flag? Some chap has laid a driveway in the pattern of the union flag: the people against this mention a loss of value to their house and being embarrassed by the flag. My view is that it shows contempt to the flag (in the same way as union flag toilet-seats and door mats). You'd never get the US flag being treated like that.
The flag of St George is now taken as a sign of being a racist. The Welsh are proud of their flag. The woke hate the Union Flag as the 'butchers apron' and have a panic-attack if they see it on a box of porridge oats.

How would it devalue the property by £20k??? Damn site cheaper to lift the bricks and chuck 2 ton of gravel down than do the bathroom or kitchen up
I'd rather see that (but it isn't to my personal taste I add) than a garden paved over just to get 3-4 chav wagons parked on it.

I saw a photo recently of some far-right types waving their "British" flags around. I'm guessing they're not very bright as one of them had the national flag of Georgia rather than St George flag.

Yes, flags are used by nationalists as rallying symbols, to show their allegiance, etc. Which is, of course, exactly what the flag was invented for - it's an identifier and a rallying symbol used by leaders for over a thousand years for a good reason. It's simple.Visiting from rrsport.co.uk
