What's this part please.. ?
I've got a leak, but I'm embarrassed to say, I don't know what this is that's leaking
Also goes into limp mode under any 'hard' acceleration (switch off and back on and it's OK again) Could there be a connection ?
Thank you

looks to be coming from the throttle body extension housing there is a o ring in there and are known to leak if its been apart recently (cam belt maybe) easy enough if you can use spanners, worth lifting the spring clip on the joint cleaning and reseating just to see if it stops
oh a little tip for you :- put the oil cap back on when you have removed the top trim cover sods law says somethings going in there please excuse any grammer/punctuation mistakes,i'm thick, thankyou

I had a similar oil leak and my LR was going into limp mode and it turned out to be the throttle body extension, as the part where the C clip is had broken and the o ring had blown outCurrent:

Fingers crossed it'll be something that simple - I'm not usually that lucky.

That's the D4 part ... OP has a 3. Is it the same ?
I fixed my similar issue on D4 with just a new o-ring.
My indy mixes in performance VW circles and says they have a similar issue that they fix by getting it all re-assembled then using a couple of self-tappers through the joint to keep it all held in place.
in D3/4 world, that shouldn't be necessary unless you've increased the boost.

Well ... stripped it down, the O ring was slightly damaged, so turned it round and put it back together (just until I get a new one)
I can't believe what a difference it has made. I took Disco out for a drive, and as much as I tried I can't get it to go into 'limp' mode, it behaved perfectly.
So, yet again.. Many thanks to the members of this forum for the help and advice
