What's it worth....?
Hi all,
Thinking about changing away from the Disco - wife is main driver since I've not had to leave the house for work in the last year, and she's got a hankering for an F-Pace. Trying to decide between selling privately or taking the trade-in option.
My beast is a 10-plate GS spec D4 with 127620 on the clock, it's had inlet manifolds changed, full service history at either LR (until the extended warranty ran out) or at an well-know Indy. Always had things done when suggested - before I bought one, someone on here told me never to skimp on maintenance so I haven't and she's been very good for us (never been brought home on a yellow taxi!). Interior is good for its age, with mats down since new (boot is a little more scruffy due to numerous tip runs!). Has extended roof rails as well as side tubes.
Jaguar suggest it's worth £6k as a trade-in. WBAC web valuation say £7300, and there's a distinct lack of similar cars from private sellers on AutoTrader. So, anyone got a good idea what it would be worth?
Trying to decide if its worth the hassle of a private sale!
Chris

Blimey Jaguar seem to have low balled you there considering you will be dropping some big coin on one of their Jaguar Land Rover vehicles.
There are quite a few 2010 reg with similar spec and mileage on eBay.
If you have time on your side and don't mind weeding out time wasters then I would list it on eBay classified or Autotrader for a while at a price that would attract attention circa £9,250 or best offer - you will soon know if your are in the right ball park. The secret to eBay is lots of good pictures and a comprehensive and detailed description.
Good luck

LR offered me £7200 for my 2011 8 speed D4 XS with 112k..... I went to an indy dealer and got £9500!
JLR don't want old vehicles even if only in part ex as its more hassle for them to take it to auction.
I would sell it privately if you can, maybe try on this forum as a first port of call.2011 D4 XS 305 MY12 - gone but not forgotten

Thanks folks for the input. Have a chap coming round on Sunday to give the car a proper clean and detail, he does a far better job than I’m capable of doing!! Will take loads of pics afterwards and then list it for sale.
Deal done with Jaguar for an F-Pace, won’t get it until late April, so plenty of time to sell privately first. If that fails, then there’s wbac, and if that doesn’t work out, then p/x!! But I’m hopeful that someone will want it!

The market seems quite buoyant for 2nd hand D4s at the moment. SWMBO's step father let his 2010 D4 GS go for £5500 last year but now could have got maybe £8k. Had new manifolds and been meticulously looked after except the paintwork was a bit knackered from offroading. I'd put up for £9k+ and see what happens. You can always drop it down if there is no interest.2010MY Disco 4 HSE in Ipanema Sand over Almond.

as mentioned earlier in this thread in January I part ex'd my 2011 MY12 D4 XS for £9500 having paid £13000 for it 18 months previously.(July)
The dealer then retailed it at £12450 and it sold within 2 weeks at screen price. That's a pretty strong price IMO but shows what the market is like for fluctuating.2011 D4 XS 305 MY12 - gone but not forgotten

Not that it helps the OP, but in the US the market for very late model LR4s (mainly the Landmarks) is very hot, with low mileage (<40K) vehicles going for $50K from LR dealerships. PAGODA

After posting a reply on here this morning, wbac have emailed me increasing their offer from £7k to £7450. Still going to try privately first, but shows how far off the Jaguar offer really is. Surely it would be more honest if they said "You can part-ex with us, but we'd rather you didn't"!!

WBAC will find a way to dock you a grand unless your vehicle is utterly spotless on the exterior, and I mean utterly spotless - but at leat you have that as a worst case bankerSteve N | 21MY Defender | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history)

Well, it's for sale on here and on ebay. Already had offer on ebay for not much more than Jaguar offered. Whilst I don't mind a haggle, I'm not replying to a broken english offer from someone with zero feedback, sigh!!
