2. Fit the D4 system, I have done a search but struggling to find prices and the pros/cons of this over the D3 system.
3. Fit a Parrot. Got the MKI9200 in my other car and now I have modified the battery compartment on the remote control it is reasonably reliable, plus gives the advantage of an Ipod interface. It seems there is a Kram leadset which gives "proper" connection into the radio (Ipod audio from all the speakers via the LR head unit/amplifier using the aux input). This works out cheaper than the D3 install kit, the only drawback is that there is a lot of clutter associated with it (extra screen and controller).
If I go with options 1/2 I still want a way of connecting up the Ipod in a better way than using the headphone socket to the aux connector in the back. Any ideas?

D4 system seems to be the most popular upgrade - even for people with earlier D3 systems. A number of sponsors on here will supply and fit for you - have a search. I know Geoff posted a photo recently of a large pile of units he had taken delivery of.
On the iPod front, I fitted an extra set of aux sockets in the upper glovebox with a Belkin adapter for the iPod. The audio cable from the Belkin gets connected in to a connector in the passenger footwell. All very neat just a pain that you have to change tracks etc on the iPod. This was the sort of thing
There is a LR audio connectivity module you can fit but that's a much more expensive solution.2016 Skoda Octavia VRS Estate

I have, when I look at my profile it even shows a little icon of it! But for some reason it isn't showing up on the forum....

Edit: Found the problem, if you have colour set to none, it doesn't appear. When I originally filled it in I didn't know which blue it was so I chose none thinking it wouldn't make any difference....

Well as you have an HSE it will have a MOST based audio, voice control and a microphone. Your best quality option is to add a D4 bluetooth module, MOST loop and steering wheel phone buttons.
The aftermarket LR D3 kit you have linked to is a nightmare to fit and of dubious quality; I don't rate them at all.

So there is a kit of all the bits I need for the D4 install then? Hmm - sounds a good option. I'm happy to do the install myself if there is a reasonable set of instructions though I don't have anything to enable it with at the moment. Was looking at getting the Gap IID but at £460 it is a bit pricey at the moment!
The IID BT is £380-90 not £460 and is worth every penny. Current: Discovery 3 06MY (55 reg) HSE Auto Zambezi Silver Allisport Fast Road Intercooler, V8 Brakes, Silicone IC Hoses, EGRs Blanked, Remapped, De-Cat pipe, FBHIC
