2007 disco 3 died on motorway

Disco 3 hse 2007 2.7 automatic
Hi held needed I was driving along the motorway and my disco died leaving me stranded in middle lane. Just the engine cut out all dash lights were on but no warnings on and no message errors on screen. It now won't start I have undone a injector to see if fuel is there but there is none when trying to turn over. I'm pretty clueless with motors so any help would be greatly appreciated

Sounds like oil pump/engine seized/crank snapped. Very unlucky, if you get recovery to you ask them if they can turn the engine over by hand.

It's the first thing I'd look for if you can turn it over with no strange noises and it just doesn't fire.

Thumbs Up

Hi j@mes just gone out to the motor to look at the belt and noticed that the suspension has lowered as well. Could this be combined I.e. a fuse or something like that

Possible failure of low pressure fuel pump in the tank or it's power supply. when ignition is first turned on the pump can be heard running and fuel should flow from the schader valve found on top of the engine near the bulkhead.

It's in the fuel tank and tank has to be dropped to replace but if you should hear it humming, turn on ignition and the drop down towards the sill and you should hear it, it only runs for a few seconds if the engine is not running. If you cant hear it running at all there are plugs located behind the drivers side front wheel that have been known to cause problems, you will have to partially remove the wheel arch liner I think.
If you can hear it working then check for fuel flow at the schrade valve.

If it's a low pressure fuel system problem then Robbie's guide might help:-

Your first action should be to get the codes read and see what if anything is logged, You will not see any fuel from the injectors when you have a problem, the pcm ecu will not authorise it when it sees a problem.

Some good suggestions but you could be totally going off in the wrong direction, see whats logged first.
