Hello guys
can anyone tell me what may be wrong with my air con, ive had it at kwik fit and they charged it, found no leaks but could only get the temp down another 3 degrees to around 18, its no worky
Hopefully this wont be anything major, but any help would be greatfully appreciated, im hoping its not going to be a dear one but do fear the worst
Anyone had similar problems?
Cheers

What exactly did KF do?
They should:
Remove any old gas
Pull a vacuum on the system
Charge it with OFN (oxygen free nitrogen)
Leave it for an hour to see if it holds the pressure
dump the OFN
Pull another vac on the system
Recharge with fresh gas.
If it is still not cold after that, you need to check the condenser is clean and that any cabin filters (if they have them, I'm not sure) are clear too.
Failing that, it could be that your compressor is not working correctly or that an electrical issue with the Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) panel is preventing it from cooling correctly. 2014 D4 XS

Unnecessary quote removed
I had to leave the car with them as they said it would take over an hour so i reckon they did what was required, as i feared this sounds expensive but thank you for your response 2006 Discovery3 HSE TDV6

No problem - a lot of "air con repairers" just dump more gas in (which is actually illegal) without testing for leaks first.
If it wasn't holding pressure, they wouldn't have regassed it. I think your problem may be something slightly more expensive (or possibly something even more simple ) 2014 D4 XS

Temp coming out og the vents should be five degrees C or lower. “There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€

Just found this on another site which means im wrong, off to phone a dealer
I was at my Land Rover dealer yesterday and purchased a new pollen filter, (part number JKR500020 $61.31 Canadian plus tax). They said the air flow is down into the fan which to me makes sense. More interestingly, what that there is a bit of a trick to installing the filter. Yes, it just slides in, but then one has to tip the near side, (edge nearest to filter door), of the filter upwards to friction fit into a rectangular opening where it is supposed to reside, (friction fit). That surprised me as the filter I removed, (the upside down one), was just sitting horizontally in the space and seemed to fit farily well there. It appears however that the instructions I received from the dealer were correct as when tipped the long edge of the filter upwards, it did lodge into place at an angle, (via friction fit). I will keep an eye on it as other than friction, nothing actually holds the filter in place. There did however seem to be a use for the little tab of filter paper that the arrow markings are on. Once the filter is lodged up in place, it is that tab of paper that you latch onto to remove the filter. Other than that, you would be scratching with your fingernails to pull out the filter. Any commments would be appreciated as I am still somewhat uncertain of all this - maybe too easy, but still a bit tricky - not obvious in any way to my mind, and nothing in the Owner manuals either other than to say that vehicles with certain packages have a pollen filter. 2006 Discovery3 HSE TDV6

air flow does go down
On another note i just phoned kwik fit who said my car took 560g of refrigerant and passed the vacum and leak tests so looks like the problem lies elsewhere 2006 Discovery3 HSE TDV6

Have you got rear aircon? If so you need 835g of gas. And check the pipe along the NS underneath by the front wheelarch. The pipe fractures on the clamp.
