I noticed that my gearbox was hanging on to the lower gears on the way home this morning. I was able to force the changes in Command mode, although the torque converter wasn't going into lock up. After a few miles everything was bad as normal. Is there anything built into the electronics to get the fluid up to temperature quicker? It may have been me feeling sluggish after a rather hectic and tiring nightshift? My Disco always feels weird or noisier after a nightshift. Run silent, run deep!! Yes - it sounds completely normal....
For the first mile or two when cold (obviously more noticeable the colder the ambient temperature is), the torque convertor lock-up is disabled and it will tend to hang on to the gears for longer to help get the gearbox oil up to working temperature as quickly as possible. 2006 Discovery 3 TDV6 SE AutoBuckingham Blue 2007 Golf GT DSG

Just wondering if a remote FBH may have a knock on effect in warming up the gearbox oil ?I was a normal heterosexual chap, but in these new woke awakenings I now identify as a Wardrobe.

Possibly - since the FBH warms the engine coolant, and the Autobox cooler is attached to the rad, theoretically some of the heat may be transferred to the gearbox fluid. I'd have thought the warming effect would be negligible though as the gearbox oil wouldn't be circulating until the engine is running!
Guys!!!, thank you very much for your rapid replies. Its like having an LR Technician (Mechanic) in your back pocket. Run silent, run deep!! HM Submarines Conqueror, Churchill, Renown, Ocelot, Porpoise, Onslaught.

I noticed it, too, and tried to convince myself that it would be something like that, but didn't want to ask for not having another thing to worry about.
Cheers!
