Bye Bye Buck Blue D3
In a similar vein to DiscoStu's Bye Bye Black Betty thread, this is the Bye Bye to my Buckingham Blue Disco thread...
I finally caved in this week and chose the "Hand It Back" LR Freedom option on the Blue D3 and placed my name on a MY08 Zermatt Silver Auto SE.
Took the Buck Blue one out for a last photp shoot fully loaded last week - best of the shots

Best car I've ever owned - and one that I've enjoyed enjoyed myself the most in (errr except an old Ford Cortina Estate in a carpark with a girlfriend at Alderley Edge but thats another story )
Have had a very busy day stripping down the Blue Beastie...
Private plate off first

Then light guards, bright vent (followed by a good scrub in and around engine compartment - amazing how much Salisbury mud came out )

Followed by Rack and Ladder
And finally wheels - bottled it and went down to the local garage and had a mechanic mate swap them all over using his big trolley jack and airgun

And so down to GS Stockport to sign some paperwork and check out the replacement... 8)

I've started removing the bramble rash - will get rid of rest tomorrow and final swapover should happen Thursday/Friday next week...Steve N | 21MY Defender | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history)

Hello,
Just a daft question but:
1 - Do you need to give back in the same dealer that you took it from?
2 - Did they mind about the dirty engine? mud? and the holes that you had to do for the drining lamps?
3 - Would that be an issue if I put some driving lamps and then took it off?
Thanks in advanceArno

Not daft questions at all - answers:
1. Dealer isn't taking it - BCA on behalf of LR Finance are taking it away
2. It'll be reasonable under the bonnet when it goes back - and yes, so I'm leaving the A-Bar on it (though probably NOT the lamps)
3. Only if you drilled holes - someone on here has 'non-destructively' mounted their driving lamps on their grillSteve N | 21MY Defender | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history)

Nice one Steve
Don't forget to forget not forget to swap the space saver for a full size alloy - who cares the style is wrong.

Silver one looks link a spacesaver Steve.
I think you can see a full size wheel at that angle.
PS There would be far less water thrown up on roads if more
vehicles in the UK had rear flaps.
I also fitted front ones to keep the doors cleaner.
