Central Locking Mystery
Iv got a 06 discovery, which has developed the rather odd habit of not locking the drivers door when the central locking is activated. All the other doors lock - just not the drivers door. When you check the door handle to see if its locked, the door opens and the alarm goes off. You deactivate the lock/alarm via the key fob, close the door, re-activate the alarm via the key fob and hey presto the second time the door locks correctly. there isnt a problem locking the door internally from the padlock button on the dash or the auto lock when you drive off - which works first time every time, only when using the fob and then only on some days - on others everything works tickety boo? any suggestions?

Mine is doing the same... God knows how long my car has been unlocked.
Also 2006 D3. It seems to lock OK on the second attempt. I would recommend to anyone to check of their drivers door is locked and don't assume it is because it makes all the right noises.

hi
had the same on my 2009 model drivers door
would not lock
other doors lock fine
bit of a bummer because you assume it is locked untill
you try the door and then it opens and alarm goes off
fix was a new lock and now works fine

Yep, sounds like a new door latch needed. A very common problem but usually where it doesn't unlock.

Just been quoted £63 plus vat for the latch plus £147 plus vat for fitting which appears a bit steep.
