Discovery 4 CarPlay/ Android Auto Install by CDS
I am now supplying wired/ wireless Apple CarPlay/ Android Auto Interfaces to bring the infotainment system in your Discovery 4 right up to date!
Supplied and fitted to a customer’s 2014 Discovery 4 last week, it retains the factory fitted screen and all the Land Rover functionality that comes with it, simply replacing the Land Rover SatNav function with all the CarPlay and Android Auto functions, meaning you’ve got all the up to date nav functionality of Google Maps, Waze or Apple Maps etc (and all the other mobile apps) right there on your factory fit screen. Siri/ Google Assistant both work through the new hidden microphone, which of course also works for your handsfree phone calls via CarPlay 👌
I’m mobile and cover most of England, Scotland & Wales, so I can come to you at home or work saving you the hassle of taking your vehicle to a garage or service centre to have the work done.
I also fitted a reversing camera to this D4 at the same time, which retains all factory functionality of a reversing camera when the CarPlay/ Android Auto unit is installed👍
Prices to supply and fit the CarPlay/ Android Auto unit (at a mainland UK address) start at £800.
To add a reversing camera to a D4 is £250 (if you already have a factory fit reverse camera then this will continue to work and there is no need to change it).
(These prices may change over time, if they do need to change I’ll edit this post to highlight the new prices. )

nice I got same via IDcore install which was supa easy apart from removing all dash panels

The prices are for fully fitted
This install retains the original LR screen, which is fantastic as it retains all the LR factory fit features such as 4x4 info, timed climate, reverse camera etc etc.
Unfortunately it does mean that if you have the small screen that came in some earlier D4’s it’s not possible to install the CarPlay/ Android Auto unit.
I am working on a solution, but it’s currently a work in progress!

Sorry if I’m a bit dumb. If you have rear entertainment screens are you able to watch Netflix etc with this device ? In the rear TVs?

No, neither the Carplay screen is duplicated to the rear screens, nor the Netflix app is available in Carplay.

If you wish to do that then you are probably better getting some iPad holders/mounts for the rear passengers and then viewing downloaded content/connecting via 4/5G directly/hotspotting.
I have RSE in my D4 but my children are not interested. It's their phones or iPads they view. RSE is for my (older) generation and I always sit in the front seats. RSE as fitted is increasingly obsolete unless individually and directly connected to the Net imho....Jim
