Hello
New to the forum as of today!
I've been through a few discos & a defender as an offroad site vehicle (my 4x4s have to earn their keep!) and am considering buying a demo Java Black D3. I've never had a black or a particularly clean vehicle - just wondering if any Java D3 owners could enlighten me on how the paintwork stands up to cleaning - I'm not bothered about dirt, but I don't want it to look like a skating rink after a few washes.
All the best

Be warned LR Java is very soft swirl marks after the lightest wash. Just get yourself some good quality polish and spend a bit of time. It looks fantastic even better muddy.
Why you worrying about washing it anyway there’s a hose pipe ban now
Check my gallery for the extremes of clean!

Washed mine a few times now, trick is to wet down with a hose first and then use a soft sponge. Wash one panel then rinse, do this until the car is complete then shammey.
No swirl marks on mine and I'm prepared to keep it that way.
Bit more work but worth it!! Standing on the shoulders of Giants.

Ken/Leigh
Thanks for the prompt & friendly replies. Ken - nice photos, D3 looks the part for field work - I'm looking at an 'S' so some of the bling might have to come later. Leigh - I also have a DSE RR to sell & help pay for the D3 - comes with a Jeremy Fearn power upgrade (chip/big intercooler) to about 190 bhp, destined for Autotrader. My D2 oil pump fell apart last week (AA relay) closely followed by the turbo. That was all fine & fixed for a few days but a damaged crank & big end bearing shortly followed (AA relay #2). Not the best of weeks.
Cheers
