Is the difference not just the way the photo has been taken The top photo is taken from above so the lever will appear shorter due to the foreshortening effect of the lens whereas the lower photo is taken more on a level with the lever on a horizontal plane to the lens Cheers Ian

I don't know if you have noticed but Land Rover did rectify this in later models.
But it's definitely not the photo... 'tis a longer lever.

Be careful for when you sell it as girls have shorter arms and the majority will prefer a long knob to a stumpy one.....
And long in this one. Maybe I'm going mad but I'm sure there are two different versions.
It doesn't seem to matter if LHD or RHD if you Google Discover 4 Interior you will see examples of both long and short.

There must be a BCM or CCF setting somewhere for a knob extension?

If there is I can't find it, I could do with a new one as mines gone all wrinkly with wear and tear It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

I would assume that they changed it after a few years, so like I said before those of us with the longer one have early cars. It would be nice to know if it can be swapped though, it definitely looks better.

And how many of us 6spd owners are stoically resisting the schoolboy urge to get our rulers out and compare? 2010 D4 HSE Ipanema Sand on GY DTs (was on GG ATs)

I reckon all the 8 speed owners with their stumpy little button/knob are just jealous of us 6 speed owners with long ones 2020 BMW X1 18d XDrive X-Line Auto
