Doh, D3 against a Vectra, no one injured

Heading down the A47 we have a green light, when a Vectra pulls out through a red light. We scrubbed as much speed a possible but hit his driver side wing at greater than 30mph (lucky for him not his door with the winch). Spinning him 480 degs and pushing us into the crash barrier lucky no-one was waiting to turn right.

Other driver has admitted responsibility, just wait for the insurance company say repair or write off.

big thing, nobody badly injured or pregnant.

Glad everyone is OK. Could have been nasty.

I'll ask then...how did the Vectra look after the damage you sustained?

Glad everybody is OK but if yours is like that I would imagine the Vectra to be a lot worse

Good that nobody was hurt... it's only metal.
Was that a big enough thump to trigger your airbags?

Thanks for the messages,

Both front airbags did their job very well, the Vectra is a right off, but not as damage as you think. A lot of the impact energy seems to have been used to spin and push the Vectra 40 foot down the road.

Spoken to the other driver he believed he was a dead man, two tours in Afghanistan and he pull out in front of 2.75 tonnes of H4H land rover.

Terrible luck Toby. At least there were no injuries. Hugely ironic as said.

Re: Doh, D3 against a Vectra, no one injured

Good to read that all were uninjured; contrast to the details of the SA accident posted since.
