Front suspension air leak

I changed my wheels back over today - only two weeks after Salisbury weekend!

Anyway when I jacked up the front drivers side, there was a load hissing of escaping air. The air seemed to be leaking from the bottom of the air suspension unit. When I changed the wheel over and dropped the car back down, then front sank on this corner.

Notice the difference between the rear and front....

After I started the engine and lowered, then raised the suspension, it recovered and seemed okay. I be concerned and getting this checked by the dealers?

Well, I would say thats its perfectly normal. Self leveling in action, confused by the 'moving ground' (the jack)

seems normal, although the air should be vented on the left rear corner only, if there was a definite (as in you could feel the air escaping) vent from where you say, there may be a problem

I've changed my wheels over at least 14 times now, always in the same manor and it has never done this before.

I couldn't really feel the air escaping at the bottom of the suspension chamber, but then I lightly touched it around the bottom the noise changed, so I assumed it was coming out the bottom somewhere. I didn't keep my head in the wheel arch for very long as the wheel was off and that corner was on the jack at the time.

Yes, I had the radio on all the time but the keys out of the ignition. Why?

radio on = vehicle still awake, height change attempts are normal, did you notice the 'offroad' height lamp flashing on the air suspension selector switch?

Yes I think it was flashing.

Every time I've changed my wheels over in the past, I've always had the radio on. It's never done this before.

Anyway, at least it's not a fault then.

It will be a direct response to not setting the correct torque on the nuts - not with those tools anyway Razz

Matt - had any s/w updates recently? one of the suspension updates means that the height is checked every time a door is closed - this could explain the change from previous wheel swaps
